Overview Calibrations

Factory calibration or accredited calibration – which do I need?

The main difference between accredited calibration and standard calibration lies in recognition and verification.

Factory Calibration (WKD)

According to DIN ISO 9001, regular calibration of measuring instruments is required to ensure the quality and reliability of measurements. Since factory calibrations are not controlled by an external body like DAkkS and there are no specific requirements in ISO 9001, the calibration laboratories are committed to accurately indicating measurement uncertainties and ensuring careful laboratory work through self-regulation.

Accredited calibration (DAkkS)

DAkkS calibration is carried out according to internationally recognized standards and the calibration certificates are valid worldwide.
They contain detailed information regarding measurement uncertainties and the traceability of measurements to national or international standards. DAkkS calibrations are regularly reviewed by DAkkS to ensure conformity with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.

DAkkS laboratories of Weiss Technik GmbH

Reliable calibration of measuring equipment and climatic test chambers

Our DAkkS laboratories in Reiskirchen and Balingen are accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 for calibration in the fields of temperature and humidity. We perform on-site calibrations of temperature and climatic test chambers, as well as thermometers, thermocouples and sensors for relative humidity.
Our stationary calibration laboratory also allows us to calibrate various thermometers, measuring instruments, and sensors for relative or absolute humidity, as well as climate chambers. Both on-site calibrations and calibrations in our stationary laboratory are carried out in accordance with the guidelines DKD-R 5-1, DKD-R 5-3, DKD-R 5-7 and DKD-R 5-8.
All details on the measured variables, measuring ranges and measuring methods can be found in the accreditation certificate.

Temperature calibration of various thermometers

In a liquid bath, climatic test chamber or dry block calibrator

Temperature calibrations from -80 °C to 200 °C with measurement uncertainties from 40 mK are carried out as comparative measurements in circulating fluid tanks. Non-submersible probes, such as combination probes for temperature and humidity, are calibrated in a climatic test chamber in the measuring medium air. DAkkS calibrations up to 350 °C are performed in a metal block calibrator, while calibrations up to 650 °C are available as factory calibrations in a dry block calibrator.

Calibration of various humidity sensors

Dew point mirror hygrometer, psychrometer, capacitive polymer sensors

Depending on the requirements we calibrate different humidity sensors. These include dew point mirror hygrometers of various manufacturers and designs with remote or integrated measuring head. Psychrometers are calibrated to the measured variables temperature and relative humidity. Capacitive polymer sensors, including their connection cables, are placed in the large test chamber, effectively eliminating measurement errors caused by heat dissipation, especially at high temperatures
