Food bank donation reloaded: The wish tree campaign for the Gießen food bank  was so popular at the Heuchelheim site that the wish lists were quickly distributed. Many employees also wanted to get involved with the food bank and donated money.

"We are really overwhelmed by your willingness to donate. In addition to the wish tree campaign, in which all 123 wishes were fulfilled, we were able to collect a further 3,905 euros in donations," said Group Works Council Chairman Simon Alsmeier, addressing the employees.

Schunk's Executive Board doubled this amount, so that the rounded donation amount of 8,000 euros could now be handed over to Anna Conrad, head of the Giessen food bank.

The Giessen food bank will use half of the amount for children and youth projects. These include swimming promotion and the "A special day" campaign, which turns the first day of school into a wonderful experience for around 700 children from the Giessen region with their own school bag and a starter kit for school. The other half of the donation helps to provide around 4,000 people in need with high-quality food that is left over at grocery stores and distributed by the food bank in return for a symbolic contribution towards costs.

"Our special thanks go to all the employees who participated and to the Executive Board for topping up the donation," said Alsmeier when handing over the donation.
